Stephen Bach attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York where he majored in painting and illustration. For the next twenty-seven years he practiced commercial art as an illustrator and muralist. What began as a part time design and consulting assignment for General Mills Restaurants gradually developed into a full time project lasting nearly fifteen years. In 1999 he began painting fine art landscapes on canvas.
“All of the previous facets of my career led me to what I always wanted to create, work that first has meaning to me. Many of my paintings are done from imagination and may be made up as I go. That brings a lot of trial and error to the process. The visual harmony of a finished piece usually conceals some amount of chaos in the underlying layers. The challenge is to make pleasing order out of it. When it works it is very satisfying.”
Stephen resides with his family in Orlando.
