Anyone raised in near water can tell you a story about color-about azure skies colliding with turquoise waters, about hazy yellow August skies touching expansive fields, about light cerulean winter skies kissing naples yellow pastures of hay fringed with dark live oak trees. These clashes and contrasts are the naturally occurring elements that I am drawn to as a painter. I firmly believe that as an artist I am compelled to paint from my own experiences. Although my style of painting is contemporary and impressionistic, I am still challenged to create a painting whereas the viewer must allow their creative minds to expand in order to fully appreciate what I am attempting.
