Kim Schuessler is originally from Dalton, Georgia. Currently, she resides in Atlanta with her family. Kim has been painting since she was 8 years old. Artistic tendencies seem to be naturally occurring traits in her family. Her sister, Christy Kinard, is also an established painter. Kim and Christy shared studios for several years where they consulted each other on painting.
Kim draws upon experiential knowledge for her painting. She routinely attempts new hobbies just to have the knowledge and feel for future paintings. This is evident in her fly fishing paintings. Although she is not an avid fly fisherman, she wanted to have some amount of experience to develop the paintings. Additionally, she relies on her children for many of her painting ideas. For example, the Sit Down and Count Your Blessings series is drawn from lessons she teaches her children about gratitude and thanks.
Kim Schuessler paintings are painted on wood boxes which are constructed by her father in Dalton. She paints in a myriad of colors and textures. Images are usually simple, yet sophisticated, ones that are looked upon by her as simple necessities for a complete life. Mostly acrylics, they can be dancing figures, rustic chairs, ice creams, or a couple fishing together.
Kim Schuessler’s paintings are collected nationally by various collectors and corporations. Please visit our store to purchase any of her limited edition prints.
