Ursula Brenner is a contemporary artist whose passions for life and art are vividly seen in her colorful pieces. Oils, pastels, and acrylics enable her to paint landscapes, abstracts, florals, and still lifes. By experimenting with her palette, Ursula intensifies the mood and subject with clear, bright colors and spontaneous brushwork to capture an immediate response, keeping the painting fresh.
Born in Germany, Ursula comes from a rich cultural heritage that has influenced her love of art. Exposure to various museums, artwork, music and European architecture helped to spark her interest in the arts. As a result, she had already decided at an early age that her dream was to become an artist. In 1978, Ursula received her BA in Drawing and Painting after studying at Edgecliff College on a four-year scholarship. Recently she has studied with Wolf Kahn and Susan Sarback, and both have influenced her with their use of color and light.
The main motivation to Ursula is the desire to create beautiful imagery, something that endures, something the inspires a “wow” from her audience. Beauty and truth are timeless to her, and this is reflected in her artwork. She finds inspiration especially in the early morning: in the way light hits the landscape and plays off the forms of nature. The mysterious quality that the landscape can sometimes have fascinates Ursula and gives her ideas for new paintings. Please visit our store to purchase any of her limited edition prints.
